Author Guidelines

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of this journal. Those considered to be a good fit will be sent for peer review before determining whether they will be accepted or rejected.

Before making a submission, authors are responsible for obtaining permission to publish any material included with the submission, such as photos, documents and datasets. All authors identified on the submission must consent to be identified as an author. Where appropriate, research should be approved by an appropriate ethics committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study's country.

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum standards of quality. Before submitting, please ensure that the study design and research argument are structured and articulated properly. The title should be concise and the abstract should be able to stand on its own. This will increase the likelihood of reviewers agreeing to review the paper. When you're satisfied that your submission meets this standard, please follow the checklist below to prepare your submission.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Los/as autores/as que envíen manuscritos a la revista científica Investigación en Turismo declaran y aceptan expresamente que:

  1. El manuscrito enviado es original, inédito y de autoría propia, y no ha sido publicado previamente ni se encuentra en proceso de evaluación simultánea en otra revista, editorial o medio de publicación.
  2. El contenido del artículo es responsabilidad exclusiva de los/as autores/as, quienes garantizan la autenticidad de la información presentada, el adecuado reconocimiento de las fuentes utilizadas y el cumplimiento de los principios de integridad académica y ética científica.
  3. En caso de aceptación para publicación, los/as autores/as autorizan a la revista Investigación en Turismo, editada por la Carrera de Turismo de la Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), a publicar, difundir, reproducir, almacenar e indexar el manuscrito en formato digital, impreso o en cualquier otro medio de difusión científica.
  4. Los/as autores/as conservan sus derechos morales sobre la obra, pero autorizan la publicación del artículo bajo la licencia Creative Commons Atribución 4.0 Internacional (CC BY 4.0), permitiendo a terceros compartir, distribuir y adaptar el contenido, siempre que se otorgue el debido reconocimiento a la autoría original y a la revista.
  5. Los/as autores/as declaran que el manuscrito no infringe derechos de autor de terceros, derechos de propiedad intelectual, confidencialidad, ni disposiciones legales vigentes.
  6. Cuando la investigación involucre personas, comunidades, entrevistas, imágenes, datos sensibles o trabajo de campo, los/as autores/as garantizan haber obtenido los permisos, autorizaciones y consentimientos éticos correspondientes.
  7. La revista Investigación en Turismo no cobra tasas por envío, procesamiento ni publicación de artículos (sin APC), manteniendo una política de acceso abierto para la democratización del conocimiento científico.

The scientific journal Investigación en Turismo, published by the Tourism Program of the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés (UMSA), is committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal data provided by authors, reviewers, readers, and other users registered on this editorial platform.

Names, email addresses, institutional affiliations, academic identifiers (such as ORCID), and any other personal information collected through the editorial management system will be used exclusively for academic, editorial, administrative, and communication purposes related to the operation of the journal, including manuscript submission, peer review, editing, publication, indexing, certification, institutional communication, and scientific dissemination.
