This research explores the translation of colloquialisms used by university students from Humanities and Educational Sciences School at UMSA university, aiming to preserve both linguistic nuances and cultural authenticity. By systematically documenting and analyzing these colloquialisms, the study addresses the challenges translators face in accurately adapting informal expressions into English. Utilizing qualitative methods, the research defines shared meanings, categorizes colloquialisms grammatically, and provides English equivalents with contextual examples. The findings highlight the importance of understanding cultural context in translation, emphasizing a balance between domestication and foreignization to maintain the integrity and accessibility of the original expressions.
