The actors field and their role on environmental issues in La Paz city

Abstract

La Paz city, like many other Bolivian cities, faces various environmental problems; although they can be analyzed and addressed from a strictly technical point of view, it is necessary to have an approach tending to comprehensiveness, considering the actors behind problematic actions or, on the contrary, positive actions for the environment.

In this sense, a research was carried out and the objective was  "analyze the role of the main actors related to environmental issues in La Paz city through the Actors' Field, in order to provide inputs for environmental planning aimed at sustainable development." The research work was carried out in 2023, at the IIGEO and it had a qualitative, exploratory and non-experimental approach.

The priority environmental issues resulting from the research refer to the environmental factors Water and Air, as well as Solid Waste Management, having carried out an analysis of the options and motivations of prioritized actors, which allowed for greater knowledge of these problems for environmental planning processes.
